Why this is hard
Your record was written for someone else.
A discharge summary, a lab panel, a medication list: all of it is written by clinicians, for clinicians. That is the right way to write it, and it is also why families sit in car parks reading a result they cannot interpret. Sahara does not rewrite your record or tell you what it means for you. It gathers it into one view and, for the items it recognizes, links out to the plain-language explanation the National Library of Medicine already publishes.

Three things worth knowing first.
Which health record systems can Sahara connect to today?
Epic MyChart, and no others. Oracle Health, MEDITECH and athenahealth are not connected. Even within Epic, each healthcare organization decides whether the connection is available and what data it returns, so availability varies by organization.
Can Sahara change anything in my medical record?
No. Sahara is read-only. It retrieves the record data you authorize, shows it, and writes nothing back. Your health system keeps the authoritative record, and you can disconnect Sahara at any time.
Is Sahara free, and what languages does it support?
Sahara is free today and asks for no card. MedlinePlus general education appears in English or Spanish where available, and optional language support can present supported record content in additional languages while the original source stays visible.
